Masons give back to children

The Mystic Valley Masonic Lodge
Angel Fund in Arlington recently received special grants totaling more
than $600 from the Masons in Massachusetts' Masonic Angel Foundation.
Mystic Valley is using this funding
to provide several local children with much-needed winter clothing, in
addition to providing Christmas gifts and other necessary items for a
local family to enjoy the holiday. This grant was made possible through
the Masonic Angel Foundation's fourth annual campaign to provide holiday
gift and benevolence packages to children in communities served by the
organization.
"I am proud that we are able to
assist our local Masonic Angel Funds by giving their friends and
neighbors the opportunity to enjoy the holiday season," said MAF
Co-Founder Robert Fellows. "As Masons, we love working with kids and
value each opportunity to help one in need. Through the contribution of
our local Lodges and support of the national Masonic Angel Foundation,
we are able to make a difference for hundreds of Massachusetts children
this winter."
The Masonic Angel Foundation is a
nationwide initiative supported by the Masons in Massachusetts, which
provides modest assistance, including eyeglasses, tuition, clothing,
medical fees and sports and musical equipment to schoolchildren in need.
Since its inception, 100 percent of the money raised stays in the
community to benefit the kids.
The Masonic Angel Fund is only one of
a number of community initiatives that the Masons are involved with,
including programs focusing on education, blood donation, child
identification and individual charity and support to those in need. The
Grand Lodge of Masons in Massachusetts is comprised of approximately
45,000 members of 270 lodges in nearly 200 communities across the
commonwealth |
