As regular
readers of these e-newsletters are aware, we have offered Benevolence
Builder Grants (BBG) to Massachusetts Masonic Angel Funds for many years
through the generosity of The Lodge of St. Andrew. With more and more
MAF's starting up in states other than Massachusetts, some of our donors
felt it was time to set up a BBG series specifically for non-Mass.
chapters.
Over the
past two years,
several donations were made to the Foundation for the specific purpose
of funding non-Massachusetts BBG's. Many of these donations were made
in honor of co-founder John Alden Sherman. Initially we planned to name
the new fund for John Sherman but he requested that instead we call it
the Founders' Fund. Thus, this new series is called the Founders' Fund
Benevolence Builder Grant.
This grant series will run from November 16,
2009 through January
15, 2010
and will conclude early if
the allocated funds are expended.
In order
to qualify for the
Founders' Fund BBG series, the affiliate must meet
all of the following criteria:
-
Operates in a jurisdiction other than Massachusetts
-
Belongs to the group exemption
- Is in
good standing with all Foundation and regulatory reporting requirements
Any Masonic Angel Fund outside
Massachusetts that meets the above qualifications may apply for a
50% replenishment of benevolences conferred during the grant period.
Please note that each qualified Masonic Angel Fund may receive up to a
cap of $1,000
for this series. This means that we can replenish 50% of your
benevolences up to $2,000 during
the life of this grant series.
To apply for a Founders' Fund
Benevolence Builder Grant simply email the particulars of each
benevolence to
info@masonicangelfund.org
- DO NOT save up your benevolences to be submitted at one time -
the money might very well be
depleted before you submit your request.
Please send your requests as you confer the benevolences.
We express our sincerest thanks to the
friends and family of John Alden Sherman as well as to the many other
donors that helped make this Founders' Fund BBG series possible.
Regards to
all,
Robert W.
